Why it's called Venecia la storia

She looked at the lake and saw a sea. She looked at the boats and saw gondolas.

Doña Blanca Rosa Salazar de Rivera saw a Venice on this shore: like the Italian city, it joined two worlds over the water, the highlands and the Pacific coast. Harvests left from here and travelers arrived when the lake was the road.

A story carried on by Don Moisés Rivera Soto, Don Moisés Rivera Salazar, Doña Clemencia Flores de Rivera, Don Rodolfo Rivera Flores and Doña Valentina Pineda de Rivera, together with generations of families from San Lucas Tolimán.
